Hello there!

Welcome to my blog, a space where I like to share my thoughts, passions, ideas and interests! My blog has been an ever evolving journey, with times of consistency and times of stagnancy. It began as a space for me to share my travels, photography and occasional written thoughts and ideas. Currently, my hope is for this blog to be a place of encouragement, reflection, education and meaningful and respectful conversation.

My goal is to go deeper into my areas of interest and share what I have learned and hopefully encourage a better understanding of certain social issues, relevant to my areas of knowledge and experience.

So, who am I and what am I interested in?

I was born and raised (and currently live) in the most beautiful place on earth, British Columbia, Canada. I live in the Fraser Valley with my husband, our young son and our cat Michael. Academically, I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the Fraser Valley in 2015 where I majored in Sociology and took an extended minor in Media & Communications with a strong focus in Journalism. Like most Sociology Majors, soon after completing my undergraduate studies I decided to pursue graduate school. I was accepted into the Masters of Business Administration program at Trinity Western University where I am currently working to complete my degree with a focus in Non-Profit and Charitable Organization Management.

Professionally, I have worked in the non-profit sector for 10 years in a variety of different roles. My work has predominately been with youth experiencing poverty, homelessness, addiction, abuse and mental illness. I care about finding new and effective ways to reduce poverty in the Fraser Valley and empower youth to live happier and healthier lives. A lot of my posts will be discussions of the various topics I am familiar with pertaining to these issues and working to destigmatize certain negative ideologies society holds that dehumanizes the dignity of some of our society's most vulnerable peoples.
